used for bioengineering where purified products with reduced endotoxicity

 are desirable. Enterobacterial common antigen is no longer produced and

 a UDP N-acetylglucose epimerase has been chromosomally integrated increasing

 the availability of UDP-GalNAc. The chain length regulators from 

Streptococcus pneumoniae capsule have replaced the O-antigen chain length 

regulator of E. coli, in order to increase polymerization of plasmid 

expressed S. pneumoniae capsule glycans.
The Campylobacter jejuni pglB oligosaccharyltransferase with a 0.1 

strength Anderson promoter is integrated into the chromosome of 

the Peregrine strain, between atpI and gidB using CRISPR technology,

 for bioconjugation.
