Remarks: Vector for yeasts; the plasmid was constructed by inserting the entire EcoRI fragment of TRP1 into pGT6; the TRP1 region itself was isolated from the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and contains features which may be involved in the initiation of DNA replication in yeasts; the TRP1 gene has been mapped on chromosome IV near the centromere; pGT6 consists of pBR322 with a fragment containing the yeast LEU2 gene inserted at the PstI site.
